Wine Maker's Note

The main feature of our Saperavi is that it grows on its own root, making this grape very rich, complex, complex. Due to aging for 18 months, Saperavi has become thin and silky. The fragrance has notes of cherry, black currant and spicy spices. The taste of the wine is full, with well-integrated tannins, jam tones and a long lasting aftertaste. This wine requires good decanting to fully reveal its deep and interesting flavors.

Review

The Lagyl Arba Saperavi 2019 is the standard, fruit-forward expression of the powerful Georgian grape variety. Unlike the heavily oaked Reserve version, this vintage is crafted to emphasize youthful, wild berry characters and vibrant freshness.

Tasting Profile

A bright and intense nose filled with vivid berry notes like wild strawberry, blueberry, and plum, laced with hints of milk caramel, clove, and exotic Eastern spices. Highly concentrated with flavors of juicy black fruits and a distinct touch of leather, savory tobacco leaf, and black pepper. Remarkably soft, juicy, and smooth—often compared to a Beaujolais style due to its creamy, primary fruit focus, yet balanced by the naturally deep, ink-dark body of Saperavi
